Riseley Recreation Association

Members of the RRA committee empty the litter bins on the Playing Field including the ones adjacent the Village Hall and Bottlebank.

Where possible we sort through the contents and place plastic bottles and cardboard into our orange bags for recycling. We are finding disposable nappies are on the increase and other household rubbish. This week a bag full of broken crockery. Last week a pair of old shoes and old slippers and the week before a steam iron. This makes sorting for recycling more difficult.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Parish Council News

Grass Cutting. This season has seen a very wet start to the grass and verge cutting coupled with a spell of very warm weather causing the grass to grow so quickly leaving heaps of clippings. Hopefully now that we are seeing some dryer conditions the cutting will soon be back to normal.

Neighbourhood Plan Group – How to Shape where You Live

The next meeting of the Group is scheduled for Thursday 24th May at 7.30pm in the Village Hall Lounge.

At the moment we are short of volunteers to take the group forward, particularly in the role of Chairman and of Secretary. If you are interested in helping shape the future of our village , and have been undecided as to whether to join the group, come along to the meeting and talk to us.

As previously mentioned the plan will involve consulting all villagers and groups over the coming months , to determine how villagers would like to see their village develop over the next 20 or so years. Issues such as housing, community facilities, local business’s are among the subjects that will be in the plan.

The main feature of these Neighbourhood Plans is that the ideas and input need come from villagers and village groups. We therefore need your support for the project to proceed.
